Procurement note

Reading comparable unit prices on wholesale packs

How to compare ₹/kg and ₹/L across tins, sacks, and case packs so recipe costing stays honest when pack sizes differ.

Pack price is not unit price

A 15 L oil tin and a 5 L jerry can can both look “cheaper” depending on which number you glance at. Restroneed catalogue cards surface the payable pack price and a comparable unit rate (for example ₹/L or ₹/kg) so buyers can compare like with like.

MOQ and order increments still apply — the unit rate is for comparison, not a licence to order fractional packs below the listed increment.

Contract and tier rates

Where an organisation has a negotiated tier or contract rate, the buyer-facing price should remain the amount that will hit the GST invoice. Savings cues must not hide the payable total.

Scope note

This note describes catalogue pricing presentation. It does not claim national assortment breadth or private-label SKU counts.
